With a background in advertising, her choice for a conscious lifestyle placed her at odds with an industry that represents mass consumption. Meanwhile, finding little in the way of vegan and environmentally friendly clothing to match her clear sense of style, she decided to study fashion
design at the Swiss Textile Institute in Zürich. The subject of her final Diploma became the label Sanikai, for which she plans a big future.

As the child of a Japanese woman, a good sense of fashion was practically Kai’s birthright. At Sanikai he is responsible for the smooth running of the business. From idea through to finished garment, Kai ensures everything runs sensibly, sustainably, and efficiently. His astute sense of business and analytical skills perfectly complement the creative ability of his business and life partner.
